JOB DESCRIPTION SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST - GOVERNMENT COST ACCOUNTANT
REPORTS TO SENIOR DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Accounting. MBA, CPA, CMA desirable. Finance or Economics background is required.



EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Financial Analyst

  • Five years of related work experience in financial analyst roles
  • Experience in accounting / financial analyst roles in a manufacturing environment required
  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Strong financial modeling and excel skill set
  • Experience with financial systems (Epicor, Access, XL Connect, Power BI, etc.) a plus



Government Cost Accounting

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other related government cost accounting standards.
  • Experience with constructing and maintain cost/pricing data, government rates and forward pricing models required.
  • Practical experience implementing CAS requirements including expanding the use of CAS concepts when evaluating other business opportunities.
  • Maintain the cost accounting system to facilitate product costing and profitability analysis; establish forward pricing rates for direct labor, manufacturing overhead, general and administrative burden factors; support production and engineering managers in developing bid & proposal submissions in an accurate and timely manner, analyze complex data, and effectively communicate labor and materials variance reports
  • Work with DCAA to process historical incurred cost audits, respond to rate variance claims



DESCRIPTION:
Senior Financial Analyst - Government Cost Accountant will be assigned primarily to assist Colt with the implementation and go-forward management of Colt's government cost accounting compliance including but not limited to (i) constructing and maintaining cost/pricing data and forward pricing rates, (ii) liaising with all Colt departments to drive internal policies, practices and procedures associated with Colt's adoption of government cost accounting standards, (iii) becoming Colt's subject matter expert ("SME") relative to government cost accounting standards and (iv) continuously evaluating organizational performance / compliance and the adequacy and effectiveness of controls surrounding related organizational activities.
