Construction Project Manager / Estimator Full Job Description

As a Construction Project Manager / Estimator, you'll be responsible for overseeing every aspect of a project, from initial estimation to final closeout. This role demands a blend of estimating skills, sourcing materials and subcontractors, and ensuring project completion within set parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal or public work construction management.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
At least 2 years of proven relevant experience in general construction, with prior roles such as Supervisor, Project Manager, or Construction Estimator.
Previous experience as a construction foreman, project superintendent, or project supervisor will also be considered.
Proficiency in interpreting bid documents, plans, and other project-related materials.
Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
Understanding of project logistics, including labor, equipment, and material requirements.
Experience in performing takeoffs and willingness to learn industry-specific software.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management abilities.
Flexibility for travel to various job sites and meetings.
Proficiency in email and computer usage, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage projects from bidding stage through completion.
Estimate project scope and costs based on plan drawings and specifications.
Obtain accurate quotes for materials and subcontractors.
Coordinate sourcing and logistics for materials and subcontractors.
Attend jobsite meetings as necessary.
Schedule and coordinate field employees and subcontractors to optimize labor, equipment, and material usage.
Plan and execute project logistics to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality completion.
Maintain regular communication with clients, management, and project staff, maintaining a professional and diplomatic demeanor throughout.
