Job Description


Payroll Specialist needed for manufacturing company in Middlesex County, New Jersey.

  • Coordinate receipt of T& E and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Reconcile and remit payments to third party vendors.
  • Process US and Canadian payrolls.
  • Process and remit wage withholding orders.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal and local regulations, auditing, and non-discrimination laws related to payroll and compensation management. Communicate with employees to answer questions and/or resolve payroll related concerns.
  • Partner with HR to ensure system changes are posted properly in regards to employee pay.


Job Duties:

  • Responsible for processing Multi State US payrolls and Canadian payrolls on a to include auditing, reconciling, and submitting payments to third party vendors.
  • Enter and/or approve employee tax elections, direct deposits, and wage withholding information.
  • Support monthly, quarterly and year end reporting as required to include W-2 reporting.
  • Provide reports to Finance and HR as directed by Payroll Supervisor.
  • Administer T&E process to include enforcement of company policies and employee training.
  • Add and delete users as needed to Concur, Amex (personal travel) and Visa (P-cards).
  • Maintain credit limits as needed.
  • Run reports as needed and provide employee reminders regarding processing deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot user issues as needed.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies, and recommend system and process improvements.


Requirements:

  • Associated degree or higher strongly preferred.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling employee information.
  • Minimum of three years payroll experience in a mid to large corporate environment required.
  • Working Knowledge of Ultipro or similar computerized system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to multi task, exercise sound judgment and prioritize conflicting demands with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to analyze/problem solve
  • Strong customer service orientation along with solid team work skills are a prerequisite for success in this position.
  • Experience with system implementations is a plus.
  • Experience with T & E is a plus.
