Location: Roberts, Il.

Wage: $90,000 - $130,000 annually

Title: HR Director

Permanent, Direct Hire

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs, trains and mentors a team of two HR professionals, ensuring delivery of effective, customer-focused HR services and solution to an employee population of ~ 425.
  • Champions an HR culture of team work, going the extra mile, and representing the Company in a positive manner at all times.
  • Serves as an HR advisor and expert to executive management.
  • Acts in a consultative role to help managers navigate complex employee issues and other aspects of human resources.
  • Evaluates and designs HR processes and programs and drafts Company policies.
  • Addresses employee relations matters and achieves resolution of issues and conflicts.
  • Actively stays informed of employment legislation and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Maintains strong working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA/ADAA, Workers' Compensation, OSHA, Form I-9, E-Verify, COBRA, HIPPA, and other employment laws.
  • Reviews requests from governmental agencies such as Department of Labor (DOL), Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and engages legal counsel as needed.
  • Oversees administration of daily HR tasks (e.g., unemployment claims, verifications of employment); manages and performs core HR functions.
  • Other duties as they relate to Benefits Management, HRIS & Payroll, Leaves of Absence (LOA), Recruitment & Talent Acquisition, Training, and Performance Management.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices, procedures and processes.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and legal parameters impacting human resources.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits strategy, design and administration.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Ability to learn new technology tools quickly.
  • Experience implementing HR Information Systems (HRIS). Paychex experience is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and financial savviness, with ability to understand financial documents, read contracts, and manage budgets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, business administration or other relevant field and a minimum of 10 years' progressive HR experience including management, or equivalent combination of experience.
  • A recognized certification in Human Resources such as a PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP is preferred.
