Responsibilities

  • The "Champion" for improving the profitability of the Business Unit. Drives maximum returns from the business unit by aggressively seeking improvements in internal performance and/or pricing, terms and conditions on contracts.
  • Evaluate financial risks of Program business decisions and appraise Business Unit and Site management as appropriate.
  • Assure timely, accurate forecasts of program and total BU sales, gross profit, cash, inventory, receivables and discretionary expense and accurate analysis of problem areas. Provide analysis of variances to AOP and forecasts
  • Chief coordination point between the business unit and support functions; especially Finance and Sales & Contracts.
  • Support and perform financial evaluation of the proposal process including Bid/No Bid and financial forecasting with oversight of the cost, revenue, and GP estimates at time of proposal bid. Perform Return on Investment Analysis for new initiatives requiring investment.
  • Ensures financial and business objectives along with performance goals are defined and understood by the business unit program teams.
  • Support Business Unit efforts in the preparation of the AOP.
  • Evaluates strategic business initiatives from a business perspective.
  • Is an interface for the customer to resolve business related issues.
  • Drives maximum returns from the business unit by aggressively seeking improvements in internal performance and/or pricing, terms and conditions on contracts.
  • Supports the Contracts Manager in contract negotiations.
  • Works to identify and mitigate business risk.
  • Adheres to internal ethics code and procedures and external regulations and laws.
  • Reviews weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) with the Program Managers and Business Unit Vice President.
  • Special projects assigned by the business unit leaders.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
