SNI Companies is partnered with a privately held CPG company that is looking for an Assistant Production Supervisor. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager, manufacturing finished products, overseeing 30+ employees, and ensuring compliance with the company's standards. The ideal candidate will have their Bachelor's Degree, knowledge of food safety/sanitation procedures, and previous leadership experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with all production operations in terms of efficiency, cost, complete and on-time delivery, safety, sanitation, employee relations, visual controls and performance assessment versus a defined budget and standards.
  • Monitor KPI for the production department in line with the entity and company objectives.
  • Maintain all necessary reporting to assess the production performance.
  • Supervision of Production and Sanitation hourly employees.
  • Provide mentoring for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and complete on-time delivery at lowest possible cost.
  • Determine production headcount needs
  • Identifies and communicate potential opportunities for capital investments
  • Proactively pursue any necessary improvement projects identified.
  • Coordinate activities between departments, i.e. Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance.
  • Follow and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
  • Follows and enforce all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
  • Follow and enforce all food safety procedures.
  • Follow and enforce all environmental protocols as applicable to job to prevent pollution to air, land or water.
  • Follow and enforce all continuous improvement actions and rules and best practices.
  • Follow and enforce all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
  • Understand advance level of cheesemaking/cooking equipment.
  • Understand advance level of cheesemaking/cooking technology.
  • Be able to perform and read Quality/Sanitation tests.
  • Select correct formula based the schedule, oldest raw material (FIFO) and ensure all cheesemakers/cooks/preparation have the proper formula/make record sheets.
  • Ensure products are within company specifications and make the necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure consumptions of raw material/packaging and raw material/packaging are balanced with no variances.
  • Check BBD, COA's and testing of all raw material/packaging are within company specifications.
  • Read and monitor all CCP's to ensure compliance.
  • Appropriate written status and follow up reports to management concerning production issues
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications and Competencies

  • Requires a High School Diploma required, GED or eqval.
  • Should be proficient in MS Office.
  • SAP experience helpful.
  • Should have technical skills in dairy/cheese production technologies.
  • Ability to control and/or optimize costs related to the production.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent project management skills.
  • Should be familiar with packing and packaging principles/ technologies.
  • Should be familiar with the dairy industry regulatory requirements, and have microbiological knowledge to be familiar with product and ingredient testing. Lean experience a plus.
  • Good judgment concerning communications, managing employees, and managing production
