Job Description

Looking for a candidate to supervise the Accounting functions of the Global Manufacturing in the Accounting Services Group to ensure company policies and standards are maintained. Responsibilities include oversight and development of Accounting employees and communicating with all levels of management and employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises/performs month-end and quarter-end closing activities and provides ongoing customer service, support, and open communication with other entities and Management.
  • Manages and/or reviews monthly journal entries and reporting packages for Aerosystems businesses.
  • Manages and/or reviews daily/monthly account reconciliations as needed.
  • Develops consistency in accounting processes by applying "best practices" and continuous improvement principles.
  • Assist Controller, Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager in ensuring compliance with company SOX requirements.
  • Assist in daily productivity of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff of 7-8 and directly engages in resolving issues.
  • Works with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Works with all functional areas to meet strategic goals and objectives.
  • Assist and/or manage business system enhancement projects.
  • Provides input into staff performance evaluations, leads by example, provides on-going coaching and staff development.
  • Ensures team effectiveness and collaboration.
  • Recommends thoughtful and achievable opportunities for organizational and performance improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 5-7 years experience in accounting or finance
  • Broad knowledge of specialized field such as accounting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Ability to use personal computer and applicable word processing and spreadsheet application software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of internal controls, business operations and processes, as well as an accounting background.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning wage and hour laws.
  • Bachelor's degree in an accounting or finance.
