Job Summary:
Provides credit administration support and service to the DFW, Houston, and Community CRE banking teams by performing independent credit analysis and risk assessment for new and existing CRE credit facilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepare comprehensive credit approval packages for all CRE credit transactions (e.g. construction lending, acquisition, value-add, and term loans), perform material modifications to existing facilities, and serve as a credit liaison for the DFW, Houston, and Community Commercial Real Estate portfolio.
Loan portfolio to include all primary CRE asset classes: (i) multifamily, (ii) industrial (iii) retail, (iv) hospitality, and (v) office, as well as more specialized asset classes inclusive of, but not limited to, self-storage, medical/hospital use, restaurants, and single-family rental properties.
Perform detailed property level analysis through the review and assessment of:
Property rent rolls, operating statements, and leases.
Third Party Appraisals & Environmental Due Diligence.
Borrower Prepared budgets and proforma.
Third party market/submarket research (i.e., CoStar, REIS, STR, et.).
Identify and assess key risks associated with a borrower’s financial performance, industry, and other variables that determine a borrower’s risk profile.
Ongoing monitoring of risk ratings for the CRE portfolio and recommending upgrades and downgrades as appropriate.
Perform evaluation and analysis on CRE Sponsors, JV Equity Partners(s), and Guarantor(s)
Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is compliant with established credit policy, procedure, and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.
Understands the bank’s overall risk appetite and how your specific department and individual job responsibilities align with the effective management of bank risk.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Bachelor of Science in related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
5 – 7 years' experience in commercial credit underwriting or related experience in a commercial bank with a focus on CRE and Homebuilder transactions in the $5 million to $30 million plus range.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience analyzing all primary CRE asset classes: (i) multifamily, (ii) industrial (iii) retail, (iv) hospitality, and (v) office, as well as more specialized asset classes inclusive of, but not limited to, self-storage, medical/hospital use, restaurants, and single-family rental properties.
Knowledge of financial statement analysis and demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate key risks.
Familiarity of core CRE loan documents, leases, appraisals, property condition reports, and feasibility studies.
Experience with syndications and participations is preferred.
Knowledge of legal matters pertaining to commercial real estate and real estate investment funds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
Completion of a formal credit training program is preferred.
