Direct hire opportunity in West Palm Beach for an experienced staff accountant. Our client is looking for a staff accountant with experience in AP/AR, fixed asset, multiple entity accounting. This is a staff accountant position that is primarily responsible for multi-company accounts payable and fixed asset reporting. Other responsibilities include general accounting functions including general ledger coding, preparation and posting of journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
The position requires good communication, judgment and analytical skills. This position interacts with all levels of the organization. A successful candidate would have strong computer skills, attention to detail and be a team player. Candidate must have the ability to work additional hours during surge or accounting close weeks if needed.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable for multiple companies
  • Fixed asset reporting; Maintain fixed asset information in the fixed asset reporting system and ensure fixed assets are in compliance with the company's capitalization policy
  • Use tax filing
  • Review and process expense reports
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Complete general ledger operations
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet and other general ledger accounts
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings
  • Imaging and indexing documents into Image Right
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with Accounts Payable processing and/or fixed asset reporting is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics is preferred
