Job Description

Looking for a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team in an exceptional Princeton Area Business. The Staff Accountant role will have full responsibility of the Accounts Payable function and also have exposure to the general ledger by recording journal entries and preparing monthly close account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will have plenty of exposure to new initiatives that will position any motivated, eager individual for growth. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for

  • Full accounts payable cycle responsibilities - review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation, obtain approvals, proper GL coding and payment.
  • Manage corporate AMEX card statements, reconciliations and payments, as well as initiate vendor invoice payments with AMEX.
  • Review expense reports and process reimbursements
  • Research and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors in a professional manner
  • Support the AR function by posting customer cash receipts daily
  • Monthly close responsibilities including recording journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliations such as cash accounts, fixed assets, prepaid and accrued expenses.
  • Prepare department level reporting to share financial results with business leaders
  • Assist with the implementation of NetSuite through testing
  • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements for the Staff Accountant Role
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 1+ year of relevant work experience
Other Skills:

  • Prior experience using NetSuite or other ERP accounting software
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge and proficiency with PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and perform multiple tasks in a complex, fast paced environment, with effective time-management skills
  • Ability to work quickly, logically, independently and accurately
