Job Description

The following is a list of qualifications required:

  • Must be able to handle multiple sets of books (approximately 18 to 22 associations per staff accountant).
  • Maintain accountants receivable: deposits, monthly or quarterly charges, misc. charges, changes in memberships, closings, estoppels, etc.
  • Maintain and process accounts payables: laser check system, proof invoices prior to processing, prepare invoices when necessary, scanning invoices, etc.
  • Delinquency work - apply late fees, interest, legal fees to members accounts, run and send past due and final notices, forward delinquent accounts to attorney, follow-up with attorney, etc.
  • Cash mananagement - open bank accounts, prepare signature cards, monitorbalances, research banks for best interest rates, transfer funds, etc.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations.Prepare journal entries and financial statements on monthly basis using accrual method of accounting.
  • Prepare payroll, payroll taxes, quarterly tax reports, etc. when necessary.
  • Track corporate annual reports, audit/reviews, tax returns, engagement letters, etc.
  • Direct contact with property managers, homeowners, board members, attorneys, accountants, etc.
  • Mail coupons on annual and as needed basis.
  • Filing, typing, computer experience, correspondence.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a busy, fast paced environment. Assist other accountants when necessary and work as a team.
  • Keep work area clean, pack files boxes at end of year, etc.
  • Whatever else is necessary to get job done, abide by rules of employee handbook, etc.

8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required during season or when special projects arise but must be approved by supervisor prior to working it. Health, dental and life insurance after 60 days from 1st day of full month worked. Employee contribution required. 401K - One year waiting period.
