Job Description

Large Retail Organization in Monmouth County Looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst
This position is responsible for supporting the Commercial division by providing analysis and insight to our operating and sales teams by developing robust standard and ad-hoc reporting and driving the development of the annual budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily and weekly sales reporting
    • Update and distribute daily sales report that summarizes customer variances to plan and prior year and reports open orders.
    • Provide weekly sales reports versus plan and prior year to the Vice Presidents.
    • Create data that is used in the weekly update for senior management.
    • Investigate and explain variances.
  • Month end reporting
    • Provide variance explanations for the bridges by month, quarter and year-to-date for actual results versus plan and prior year.
    • Other ad-hoc analysis of results.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Company's annual operating plan
    • Create and distribute an Excel template to the sales team and Vice Presidents.
    • Work with the sales team on the bottoms up build of the customer sales budget.
    • Use trend analysis, sales team input and strategic initiatives to provide a completed plan by customer and month.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify and explain variances versus plan performance and prior year.
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insight
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as an integral member of a team
  • Confidence to complete projects with limited supervision
  • Judgment and discretion in working with highly confidential information
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment

Position Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent preferred and a minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert level Excel skills to include pivot tables, slicers, vlookups and array formulas
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Preferred experience (but not required)
    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Access
    • Hyperion Planning (or other Hyperion products)
