Large Corporation in Monmouth County Looking for a Retail Sales Analyst
This position is principally responsible for direct financial support of the Retail Sales specific to Sales Planning to include revenue, shipments, margin, R&A budgets and merchandise/marketing program evaluation. Assists in the Weekly and Monthly Management Discussion & Analysis report on Retail Sales to the executive leadership team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the accumulation and preparation of the Retail Monthly Management Discussion & Analysis
- Preparation of Price/Volume/Mix sales reconciliations at Customer, Category and Product level, including inquiring to appropriate personnel on reasons for deviation to budget or prior year
- Coordinating the distribution of monthly R&A expense summaries to department head, assisting with the identification of deviation to budget.
- Preparation of Sales and EBITDA bridges to assist with the understanding of the company's financial results
- Perform analysis identifying and explaining variances vs. prior year performance
- Prepare the quarterly Customer and Product profitability analysis, provide insights into changes from period periods as well as assist in the assessment of possible SKU rationalization.
- Work with Product Development to review the profitability of new product programs as well as development a postmortem process to see if financial objectives were met.
- Assist with the preparation of the Monthly Operating Report that is sent to our private equity owner.
- Other duties include program evaluation including any and all merchandising and marketing programs
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other business-related program required.
- Must have 6-10 years retail industry experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles as well as strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well as an integral member of a team
- Confidence to complete projects with limited supervision
- Judgment and discretion in working with highly confidential information are also critical.
- Must be detail oriented with a strong work ethic
- Proactive and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with JD Edwards, as well as Oracle/Hyperion Planning or other Hyperion products preferred.
