Large Manufacturing Company in Monmouth County Looking for a Supply Chain Planner
The Planner is organized by product line and is responsible for planning Finished Goods supply to support Customer Orders managed by the Account Management Team. The Planner is an intricate part of the Manufacturing and Revenue commitments made to the Customer on a monthly basis and ownership to meet those commitments is extremely important to the success of this role. In addition, the Planner is responsible for the "call-off: of purchased Raw Material to support manufacturing of both bulk and filled finished goods. Ultimately, the Planner is responsible for providing the required level of service at the least cost.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities are:

  • Plan and prepare Finished Goods Supply plan based on Customer Demand Requirements in accordance with Raw Material and Batch Manufacturing lead-times.
  • Represent manufacturing by reviewing and confirming ship dates back to the Account Management Team/Customer Planning Teams for all new orders and change requests.
  • Manage new product launch activity for assigned customers/product lines.
  • Assume responsibility for tracking and excuting against attainment numbers
  • Monitor changes to Raw Material Supply plans and re-plan Finished Goods Supply, if applicable.
  • Release (call-off) purchased material from supplier/freight forwarder portal to support Finished Goods supply plan.
  • Co-ordinate the resolution of quality rejects to replensih lost stock and maintain production commitments.
  • Monitor Work Order material/component inventory and release Work Orders and all Re-Work Orders to Production Scheduling for sequencing and execution.
  • Monitor Daily Production Status to ensure Ship Dates are supported. Re-plan operations where necessary.
  • Effectively utilize analytical and problem solving skills to recognize problems and recommend alternate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain status information that provides accurate analysis of material due in, work progress, and unreleased work.
  • Manage inventory investment through Days of Supply, Excess, Rejected,and Aged inventory Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Regularly perform studies to ensure that inventory control policies are being followed
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management or similar.
  • Certifications: APICS certification desired
  • Experience/Technical Skills:
    • Minimum of 2 years of supply chain and operations experience preferably in the personal care industry
    • Broad working knowledge using an MRP system in a manufacturing environment including demand planning, production planning/scheduling, purchasing, receiving, shipping.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets utilizing advanced formulas and functions. (VLook-up, Pivot Tables, etc…)
    • Tenacious, abiding sense of urgency and personal pace.
    • Direct customer interface experience helpful.
    • Strong orientation to detail with good organization skills
