Payment Solutions Supervisor

General Responsibilities

The Operations Supervisor of Payment Solutions is responsible for managing daily operations within the banks Prepaid and Payment Solutions division. General duties include: Development and ongoing management of operations of prepaid card programs and payment processing solutions for bank clients and third-party program managers. Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are in compliance with Bank, Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as network guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Operations Supervisor, Payment Solutions Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for defining the banks processing and settlement procedures and processes with all PS partners including but not limited to the FRB, branded networks (Visa, MC, etc.), processors and program manager
  • Review and monitor deposit accounts associated with PS operations including PM Funding Accounts
  • Supervise Payment Solutions Operations staff as needed
  • Monitor, analyze, and deliver various reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Understands internal and external policies required to insure Program Managers comply with Bank policies as well as Federal, State and network rules and regulations.
  • Interface with Visa, MasterCard, Discover product specialists, branding and security teams as necessary. Obtain approvals, variances, and clarification of rules and requirements for card programs.
  • Responsible for varied projects and implementations including new client on-boarding, processor conversion and network conversions
  • Complete assigned special projects and training as requested
  • Continuously seek alternate ways in processing methods to improve operating efficiency and new product opportunities
  • Manage third party oversight requirements for Payment Solutions.
  • Payment Solutions primary contact point for third party relationships in conjunction with the Banks Compliance department
  • Responsible for managing all communications and requests of Payment Solutions clients, vendors and third-party relationships
  • Coordinate BIN acquisition with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, etc.
  • Keep detailed records of work and research for retention purposes
  • Determine training needs of staff and coordinate efforts
  • Keep department head informed via regular status meetings or reports on all activities, projects and accountability of the team.
  • Maintains appropriate records to assure effective business continuity in his/her assigned role
  • Serves as a backup during absence of one or more team members during planned or unplanned periods to ensure adherence to established service standards

Supervision of Personnel

  • Operations Specialists dedicated to third party program management. Additional direct reports will be determined as the line of business develops.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work independently. The incumbent will be expected to be able to work Monday through Friday and work will mainly be performed at the Maitland location; occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Flexibility with work location and hours may be granted if circumstances permit.

Qualifications Summary


High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 2-years College in Business-related field preferred.


Minimum 5 years related experience including:

  • Minimum of 5 years banking or bank operations experience
  • Experience of Prepaid Product Operations and prepaid processing experience preferred.
  • Visa/MasterCard/Discover General Purpose Reloadable, Payroll and Incentive cards preferred.
  • Previous experience working with processing platform providers such as Galileo, I2C, FIS or Fiserv preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient in banking payment regulations: NACHA Operating Rules, Visa and MasterCard, Discover Rules
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with all bank departments, technology partners and prepaid program managers.
  • Must be willing to learn and cross-train employees in other job functions
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Must be accurate and thorough with strong customer service skills.
