Our client, an industry leader in the offshore drilling industry, is adding a Financial Reporting Accountant to the team. This is a high profile role that will interact with various departments, and provides a unique opportunity to do SEC Reporting in addition to some general ledger accounting. Qualified applicants will have a combination or public accounting and industry experience, or financial reporting/general ledger experience at a publicly traded company. Summary of Position:
The Financial Reporting Accountant will be resposible for the financial reporting of the company's foreign legal jurisdictions. The company's structure includes several foreign entities which require annual filings of financial statement and audits. Additionally, this role will be tasked with Fixed Asset accounting, including: month end close, assistance with 10K and 10Q reports, and internal reports.


Duties & Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to):

  • Assist in coordination of audit of financial statements for each required legal entity, providing support to auditors as necessary
  • Understand the companies legal structure and be able to review the historical accounting transactions
  • Understanding or ability to research accounting topics utilized for legal accounting treatments (dividends, debt issuance, fixed asset sales, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting (capitalization, retirement, depreciation, impairment, etc.)
  • Month end close activities surrounding fixed assets
  • Prepare schedules for External Financial Reporting group (10K, 10Q and UK IFRS Reports)
  • Prepare management reports and perform variance analysis
  • Special projects and analysis as required
