Director of FP&A Manufacturing will support the Tech ops organization in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, long range plans, and reporting to enable optimal business decision support. This role will be the lead finance business partner for overall COGS and inventory management for current and pipeline products and related system and processes. This position reports directly to the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis.
Responsibilities (include but limited to):

  • Business partner to global Technical operations and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO's) and Contract Packaging Organization (CPO) key contributor to the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) process
  • Partner with the Cost accounting group to ensure timely and accurate book closing and accruals
  • Analyze cost savings opportunities, develop project plans and monitor progress and results
  • Prepare and Communicate the planning calendar in conjunction with overall business needs
  • Drive the timely preparation of budgetary, forecast and long-range planning cost inputs to the overall process
  • Collaborate with functional area for all capital projects (e.g. expansion, process improvements etc.) and related ROI including budgetary control to avoid cost overruns
  • Prepare decision support analysis, financial modeling and ad-hoc analytical support to optimize resource allocation decisions and minimize manufacturing and inventory costs including minimizing obsolescence and write offs.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize safety stock and inventory levels to guarantee required customer service levels.
  • Develop high-level business and financial presentations for financial management
  • Assist the Technical Operations group to drive financial excellence in cost and inventory management
  • Ensure process documentation is available for knowledge transfer related to the position
  • Develop and implement best financial practices across the Global Manufacturing organization
  • Facilitate process improvement and provide appropriate training to enable the adoption of new processes, tools and models
  • Key contributor for Tech Ops related special projects
  • Maintain internal control environment to the highest standards of compliance and integrity including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX)
  • Develop long-range manufacturing forecasts for key drug candidates in development
  • Collaborate with VP Financial Planning and Analysis to review and update manufacturing risks
  • Develop and maintain a variety of tech ops functional metrics/KPIs and dashboards to ensure the optimal operation of the business
  • Proactively identify issues and opportunities, and the means to leverage or address them
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business required; MBA preferred; CPA/CMA certification a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing financial experience, including 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry required
  • Experience with Cost and Activity Based and Project Based Reporting Systems
  • Experienced with Oracle OPM required and Hyperion Planning experience preferred
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and skilled in use of analytical computer programs
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment

  • Ability to work well on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Travel is minimal for this position. (less than 10%)
