Job Description

The Deposit Operations Manager is a management position responsible for overseeing the daily operational and compliance aspects of the deposit operations department.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the productivity and daily functions of the Deposit Operations staff to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements, and to maximize operational efficiencies and operational excellence.
  • Responsible for all debit card matters including but not limited to ordering debit cards; maintenance, hot cards, disputes and pin reorders
  • Responsible for review of mobile and merchant capture deposits
  • Responsible for online and mobile banking support and customer service email requests (telephone and email)
  • Provides support, assistance and backup to all deposit operations functions including, but not limited to: insufficient funds and exception item processing, adjustments, chargebacks, collection items, large dollar items, safe deposit, research, withholding, non-post, stop pay, positive pay, NSF, chargebacks, CD Interest checks, Government Reclamations and Death Notifications
  • Reviews all IRA accounts, monitor activities, provide reports and resolve problems relating to IRA. Remain up to date on compliance and regulatory changes and requirements related to IRA's. In addition, working with our training team to develop and update IRA related training.
  • Responsible for receiving and processing all Legal Process documents served to the Bank including levies, subpoenas, deceased customer claims, garnishments, and attachments.
  • Responsible for tracking of safe deposit past due boxes, drilling schedules and the escheat process.
  • Responsible for fraud monitoring and monitoring of employee accounts.
  • Completes all user access reviews for all Deposit Operations systems.
  • Ensures procedures are maintained and kept current for department and related activities.
  • Keeps current with, supports and complies with all bank and regulation policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
  • Provides customer and account support to branch personnel
  • Administer the core platform as related to deposit products
  • Meet established department goals with minimal supervision; update supervisor/leader on all major projects, employee issues and goal progress.
  • Partner with other Operations Managers to continuously drive efficient processes and add value to our business partners and customers
  • Participate in special projects and assignments and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of deposit and/or branch operations experience, or relevant work experience in the financial services industry.


  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations affecting deposit accounts
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry product suites preferred
  • Supervisory or management of direct reports experience required
  • Must possess accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills as well as superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to set priorities, manage tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing and capable of defining problems and taking initiative to propose practical solutions.
  • Some travel may be required on an as needed basis to attend trainings, conferences, and/or between bank locations
