Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

SNI has partnered with a leading manufacturer in the Greater Springfield area that is seeking a production supervisor to add to their team. 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area: This involves calculating the quantity of materials needed for production and requesting them from the appropriate storage area.

2. Interprets specifications, prints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties: The supervisor interprets instructions, specifications, and work orders and assigns tasks to the workers based on their skills and capabilities.

3. Plans flow of materials through the department and develops the physical layout of machines according to work orders: This responsibility involves organizing the movement of materials and designing the layout of machines to optimize production efficiency.

4. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met: The supervisor collaborates with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to ensure that production schedules align with customer deadlines.

5. Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications: The supervisor conducts inspections and measurements to ensure that the produced parts and products meet the required specifications and quality standards.

6. Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards: If products do not meet the quality requirements, the supervisor guides workers in adjusting machines and equipment to rectify any issues.

7. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules: The supervisor sets or modifies work procedures and processes to meet production targets and schedules.

8. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality: The supervisor identifies areas for improvement and proposes and implements strategies to enhance production methods, equipment efficiency, and product quality.

9. Suggests changes in working conditions and equipment usage to increase efficiency: The supervisor makes suggestions for improving working conditions and equipment utilization to enhance overall efficiency in the shop or department.

10. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems: The supervisor identifies and resolves work-related issues and provides guidance and support to workers in resolving problems they encounter during production.

11. Maintains time and production records: This responsibility involves keeping accurate records of employee working hours and production outputs for tracking and reporting purposes.

12. Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times: The supervisor assesses the need for new capital equipment, prepares justifications for investment, and recommends machinery and technology upgrades to improve quality, cost-effectiveness, and production efficiency.

Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials: The supervisor estimates the required quantities of materials, places requisitions to obtain them, and inspects the received materials for quality and compliance.
