CNC Milling Operator
Purpose:
To manufacture, prepare, inspect, and operate various milling work with moderate supervision. The role involves receiving guidance and mentoring to enhance performance.
Product:
Manufactured items that meet customer demands and expectations, produced with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
Metrics:
- Minimize downtime
- Reduce defects to zero
- Maximize throughput
Essential Duties:
- Manufacture parts based on demand, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Evaluate quality requirements and produce parts with moderate supervision, maintaining a high level of awareness regarding General Manufacturing Expectations (GMEs).
- Demonstrate the necessary skills to complete most complex tasks, with knowledge of materials, material removal techniques, rates, and general shop practices and procedures.
Evaluation Standards:
- Ensure minimal machine downtime, no defects, and no turnbacks.
- Maintain high throughput levels and meet customer satisfaction goals.
- Achieve zero downtime and improve throughput.
Skills:
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to learn and work with Visual software, manufacturing software, and word processing programs.
- Communication: Strong command of the English language, with clear and understandable diction. Capable of reading and interpreting documents, writing reports, letters, emails, and faxes. Able to speak effectively in both one-on-one and group settings, and work well with others in a team environment.
- Reasoning: Ability to understand and interpret various forms of instructions, including written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled. Skilled in prioritizing tasks, multitasking, and problem-solving.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: At least 3 years of CNC Milling experience, including job shop experience and/or training. Proficiency in turning, tooling, materials, general shop math, geometric symbols, and a basic understanding of programming.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. High level of machine shop math skills.
- Inspection and Quality Standards: Basic skills in inspection and adherence to quality standards
