Federal Tax Manager, Planning & Compliance

SNI Financial is partnered with a publicly traded company that is a global leader in their industry that is looking to hire a Federal Tax Manager for their Chicago, IL office. This role will manage US federal and income tax planning, special projects related to M&A, and lead a team of tax professionals. The company outsources their tax compliance, and the Tax Manager will be in communication with their external firm.

Responsibilities:

• Run the domestic federal income tax return process with their outside firm
• Create and implement US tax planning strategies
• Advise, support, and resolve tax and accounting issues as they arise
• Support projects related to M&A due diligence and structuring
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and its impact on the company’s financial statements and tax returns
• Review various areas of quarterly tax provisions
• Enhance processes within the tax department as needed
• Ensure documentation complies with SOX
• Communicate with outside consultants & external auditors
• Mentor and lead a team of two tax professionals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or continued education preferred
• Minimum 5 years of tax experience
• 1+ year of experience managing a team
• Experience in a Big 4, Tier 2, or global company preferred
