CNC Programmer
We are currently seeking a 1st Shift CNC Programmer for a direct hire position. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual capable of supporting a CNC machine shop team in both new and repeat production.
Experience with MasterCam 2024 and solid modeling is essential. The candidate must be able to perform set-ups, operate machines, make minor adjustments, work with close tolerances, and have experience machining a variety of metals, including Inconel and titanium.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Proficient in core manufacturing processes such as turning and milling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage change effectively.
- Comfortable working in a team environment and willing to assist in other areas when needed.
- Basic understanding of special processes like heat treating, plating, and non-destructive testing.
- Capable of interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks is a plus.
- Work in a supportive, experienced, close-knit team of machinists.
- Operate in a clean, well-lit, and modern machine shop.
- Exposure to a variety of projects and parts, ensuring no monotonous production routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate CNC code for 4 and 5-axis vertical and horizontal lathes/milling machines using MasterCam software.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine the best tooling and processes for manufacturing each part.
- Design fixtures for holding and processing parts when necessary.
- Write instruction sheets and provide detailed process drawings and tooling lists to guide machine set-up and operation.
- Oversee the technical direction of large projects as they move through the shop.
