JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for analyzing all types of credit information. Prepares complete loan packages independently for mid-size to large loans, completes all documents, including projections, prepares analyses and makes appropriate recommendations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyzes financial statements to develop initial assessment by identifying strengths and weaknesses pertaining to borrower’s historical performance.
2. Prepares written analyses, which includes credit investigation of the borrower and guarantors, economic and market conditions related to the company, industry and market area, in-depth historical financial analysis, and in-depth analysis of the secondary sources of repayment such as collateral.
3. Provides a written analysis and recommendation that includes a list of strengths and weaknesses of a credit, including approval, denial or alternative structure.
4. Attends loan committee meetings and board meetings, as appropriate, to be available to answer questions regarding the specific credit analysis of a loan.
5. Ensures financial statements are current and in accordance with loan agreements.
6. Monitors assigned loans and/or loan types, as directed, on a quarterly basis to ensure credit quality.
7. Other credit administration duties as assigned.
CONTACTS
Daily contact with direct supervisor and loan officers, as well as frequent contact with Chief Credit Officer and Chief Credit Approval Officer. Occasional contact with bank customers to request information and auditors to review credit quality.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Three to five years of credit or financial analysis experience.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
3. Knowledge of personal computer and related word processing and spreadsheet software.
4. Detail oriented.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
7. Excellent customer service skills.
8. Self-starter and ability to be assertive and arrive at sound business decisions.
9. Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and complete multiple time-sensitive projects by required deadlines.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
1. Familiar with the bank’s core accounting system.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of banking rules and regulations.
3. Ability to work independently and as a team with excellent time management skills.
4. Knowledge of various banking departments.
