Facilities Lead

SNI Financial Agawam, MA (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Overview
The Group Leader is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities on their shift and ensuring smooth shift transitions by working closely with other Group Leaders. This role is vital in building and developing teams through mentoring, training, and supporting production and quality goals, ensuring that targets are met in a timely and accurate manner. The Group Leader will focus on achieving machine up-time, production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals.

Position Responsibilities
• Lead regular safety meetings with the workgroup
• Assist with identifying and scheduling the daily tasks needed to meet production, quality, and maintenance objectives
• Oversee the work of maintenance mechanics as directed by a supervisor or manager, delegating work orders as necessary
• Support the training of new and existing maintenance mechanics, including cross-training to build department expertise
• Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team, setting clear goals and expectations
• Ensure that maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time
• Help team members with technical challenges or complex issues related to their tasks
• Recommend improvements to equipment performance and maintenance schedules
• Regularly review and inspect completed work orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with the CMMS system
• Suggest spare part orders based on trends, experience, and OEM recommendations
• Monitor spare parts inventory and order supplies as needed
• Communicate with suppliers, request quotes, and provide recommendations to management
• Perform other tasks as required

Position Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in a maintenance department, including hands-on, leadership, or supervisory roles
• Ability to act as a liaison between production and maintenance teams
• Proven history of compliance with company policies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Familiarity with CMMS systems
• Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to both teach and learn from others
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work in high-noise environments and wear appropriate hearing protection
• Ability to mount and dismount a forklift using three points of contact (two hands and one foot)
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely, avoiding distractions such as cell phones
• Manual material handling, including gripping, squeezing, and pinching
• Ability to work in an elevated ambient temperature environment
• Capability to use stepladders, extension ladders, and fixed ladders
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds
