We are seeking a dynamic and experienced State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join our client's growing public accounting firm in Denver, CO. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to lead engagements, mentor teams, and provide exceptional service to clients in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage state and local income tax compliance and consulting engagements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee income and franchise tax return preparation and review processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients, addressing state income tax and multi-state compliance matters.
- Supervise and mentor staff, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for state and local tax matters.
- Stay informed of changes in state and local tax laws, ensuring compliance and identifying implications for clients.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
- Active CPA license required.
- 5+ years of state and local tax experience, with expertise in income and franchise tax compliance and consulting.
- Proven experience managing processes and leading teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to clients and team members.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
