Job Description:
Our Fantastic client on the CT coast is looking for a Swiss Setup Machinist to add to their team!

Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
- Proficiency in using computerized machine controls, weight scales, comparators, microscopes, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and specialized trade tools.
- Ability to perform Swiss machine setups with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and significant mathematical skills.
- Prior experience with Swiss machines is required
Responsibilities:
- Work from programming data, operational instructions, part drawings, and setup guidelines to define and code tool arrangements, fixturing, material clamping methods, machine calibration, and console settings for operations such as boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, and contouring.
- Arrange, mount, and secure tooling in machines, racks, magazines, or turrets; mount, align, and secure holding fixtures; set stops and calibrate fixtures or workpieces to material reference points. Restock machines with necessary materials and ensure multiple machines remain operational.
- Operate and load multiple machines, adjusting and resetting machine and fixture stops to maintain tolerance requirements. Sharpen tools as needed.
- Follow detailed instructions, standard coding, and operational data to change or mount tools and position workpieces.
- Keep machines restocked with materials and oils as necessary. Ensure that material, holding fixtures, and clamping devices remain free of chips for accurate work positioning.
- Operate control consoles to orient the spindle and verify work position at reference points.
- Identify and report any machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or operational difficulties. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace while following all prescribed safety guidelines and regulations.
