Sr. Accountant-Miami
The Sr. Accountant is responsible to ensure financial statements accuracy by setting up internal controls and adopting proper policies for financial reporting. Responsible for performing account analysis to ensure financial information has been recorded correctly in accordance with GAAP. Perform calculations of the company’s position, interface/assist with collateral and financial audits.
Main Responsibilities
• Work closely with the controller and other members of management to ensure good accounting practices by developing rules and procedures for others to follow. Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying errors and risks that could have a significant financial impact on the company’s performance.
Collaborate with the controller to review financial data on a monthly basis to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
•Work closely with the controller to perform monthly consolidation/month-end close and analysis of financial results making suitable observations and recommendations
•Review/analysis of monthly closing reports
•Review G/L accounts on a monthly basis, including investigating and determining potential impacts of different activities on financial statements
•Oversee SG&A variance and trend analysis
•Analysis/review of report identifying issues and opportunities
•Review monthly inventory reconciliation (AP/AR) and products aging while making suitable observations and recommendations
•Supervise accounting functions as needed
•Lead Audits
•Assist with any other finance issues as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related experience
- 7-10+ years prior Acct./Finance experience
- •CPA Certification is a +
- Futures and mark to market proficiency highly preferred
- Strong time management/organizational skills
- Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
- Position requires the ability to work independently and as a team player
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong computer skills; Excel proficiency (MUST)
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
