Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview
Our company operates in two divisions: roofing products and fastening systems. The roofing products division is a global leader in manufacturing and supplying value-added components for the commercial roofing industry, while the fastening systems division focuses on creating premium-quality wood-to-wood fasteners designed to make construction projects safer, faster, and easier. The Maintenance Mechanic will be a key player in supporting our manufacturing facility, performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment, and suggesting improvements to boost productivity.

Position Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance on production and packing equipment
• Provide emergency and unscheduled maintenance as needed
• Assist with setting up equipment for production runs
• Support machine rebuilds, installations, and moves
• Fabricate machine repair parts, tooling, safety guards, and other components as required
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for production equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform necessary maintenance
• Follow OSHA Safety and Health standards
• Identify and implement improvements to current policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience, including troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment, basic welding and cutting, understanding hydraulics, operating machine maintenance tools, and using measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
• Proven experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
• Ability to solve problems and meet deadlines efficiently
• Strong knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite preferred
• Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
• Industrial forklift certification preferred
• Positive, can-do attitude

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work in noisy areas and wear hearing protection
• Ability to mount/dismount forklifts using three points of contact (two hands, one foot)
• Ability to drive safely, avoiding distractions such as cell phones
• Manual material handling, including gripping, squeezing, and pinching
• Ability to work in elevated ambient temperatures
• Ability to use stepladders, extension ladders, and fixed ladders
• Ability to work in confined spaces with limited access
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle objects, reach, climb, and lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds regularly
