Credit Analyst/Loan Portfolio Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed credit analysis and risk assessment for loan applications from individuals and businesses.
- Ensuring credit analysis clearly and concisely explains the credit request, analyzes the financial information with strengths and weaknesses, evaluates compliance with underwriting standards and makes recommendations with regard to constructive terms, controls and financial covenants.
- Evaluate financial statements, Tax returns, credit reports, and other relevant data to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
- Prepare comprehensive credit packages and present findings to senior management and the board.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for portfolio delinquency, repossession and loss reports through data obtained from internal and external sources and perform credit inquiries, as needed
- Assist in the development and maintenance of credit policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless credit operations.
- Handling correspondence with internal and external customers professionally, courteously and promptly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, Tax returns, credit reports, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Good knowledge of financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow analysis.
- Knowledge of credit underwriting policies, procedures, processes, collateral valuation and documentation.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools. (Excell, Word, Moody’s)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team and management.
- Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the Bank and borrower.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to credit risk management.
