SNI has partnered with a leading building supply manufacturer that is seeking a Project Manager to add to their New Product Development team.
 

Position Summary
Our Product Development and Innovation team is dedicated to crafting compelling and inventive new products while enhancing our existing offerings to better cater to the requirements of professional contractors and building specifiers in our target markets. The Innovation Project Manager utilizes our structured development process and employs Six Sigma methodologies to concentrate on the creation of compelling new products and the enhancement of our current product lineup. This pivotal role encompasses comprehensive project management responsibilities, spanning from concept to product launch, encompassing schedule management, inter-departmental communication, and overall team supervision. The ideal candidate for this role should excel in communication, possess strong time management skills, exhibit impeccable organizational abilities, and, above all, exhibit a fervent commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
• Champion a culture of safety as the top priority for all OMG employees.
• Lead a cross-functional development team to conceive and introduce innovative product solutions that align with customer needs, budget constraints, project timelines, and scope.
• Assume a leadership position in executing OMG’s Project Management and Stage Gate Processes.
• Craft, revise, and maintain the Project Charter using OMG's New Product Development process template.
• Establish and uphold project timelines.
• Communicate and address any deviations or adjustments to the project plan or schedule.
• Ensure project team members fulfill their respective responsibilities.
• Identify constraints, collaborate with the team to devise corrective actions, and escalate issues to the Vice President of New Product Development and Innovation when necessary.
• Evaluate the quality of contributions from team members. • Organize weekly project status meetings, including updates to slides and charts. • Concurrently oversee 3 – 5 projects.
• Success metrics encompass achieving project gates, adherence to gate timelines, unexpected delays, patent applications, bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and final design performance.
• Coach, mentor, and nurture the product development team.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years' project management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project with advanced knowledge and experience. • Familiarity with SolidWorks.
• Demonstrated capability to manage various facets of project management, involving coordination both within the organization and with internal and external stakeholders.
• Profound understanding of project management principles and the stage gate decision-making process.
• Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering and other operational processes.
• Practical hands-on aptitude, preferably in construction and/or mechanical fields. • Possesses creativity, tenacity, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, highly driven, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in PC skills, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform tasks involving standing, seeing, walking, climbing, speaking, hearing, and occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 lbs.
• Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude.
