We’re hiring for a Tax Senior Manager – International Tax. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
- Aims to be a subject matter expert (SME) within international taxation
- Develops strong, long-term relationships with internal and external client contacts in providing ongoing counsel and strategic support
- Identifies and promotes new business opportunities within our core capabilities (e.g., cross selling, transfer pricing)
- Addresses questions on advanced technical tax matters from team members and upper-level client management, as well as, tax risk management issues and proposes potential solutions through research and collaboration with Engagement Partner
- Works with engagement staff to detail review of tax work papers on a timely basis and assures tax references and documentation are in accordance with firm’s documentation standards
- Proactively requests the client where appropriate on the quality and substance of financial data to ensure the integrity of the tax work performed
- Possesses advanced level tax review and research skills, including but not limited to topics such as: US inbound and outbound investments, Chapter 3 withholding tax and tax treaty analysis, technical proficiency of the TCJA international tax provisions and coordination skills with domestic TCJA provisions, international tax reporting forms, advanced tax transactions, draw conclusions & prepares memos based on target issues.
- Strong exposure to fundamental US international tax rules including but not limited to: GILTI, BEAT, FDII, 962 Election, residency and sourcing rules, ECI, Subpart F, PFIC, Foreign Tax Credits, withholding taxes, and tax treaties, etc.
- Advanced administrative, and written and oral communication skills
- Advanced level knowledge of inbound and outbound acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations
- Advanced quantitative skills, working with Excel, specifically with effective tax rate modeling for tax rate optimization
- Oversees several engagement workflows and monitors that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
- Reviews tax returns and international tax informational reporting forms for tax technical issues, completion, and accuracy
- Possesses expert knowledge of applicable tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystems, GFR, Engagement, Checkpoint, SurePrep etc.)
- Leads planning and execution of client engagement In collaboration with Senior Manager/Manager
- Leads small to large sized engagements, with finalized deliverable(s) requiring minimal Partner oversight
- Responds to internal and external client inquiries in a timely and practical manner; anticipates client needs and provides value added details/answers
- Develops and leads ITS training sessions as well as generates knowledge management (e.g., ITS articles, Alerts) for the firm
- Develops mentoring relationships with Managers and Staff
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in a similar role
- 4+ years’ supervisory experience in a similar role
- Licensed CPA or admission to a State Bar
- Ability to work independently and also work well with others
- Strong technical and broad based advisory and client management skills
- Stays current on international tax technical and industry developments and standards while evaluating potential impacts on their client engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- LL.M. in Taxation, or a Master’s in Taxation or Accounting
- Experience with pass through entities, business structuring, and nonprofit would be a plus
- Software Experience - CCH ProSystem, Microsoft Office 365
