Job Description

Roofing Estimator/Sales
The Sales Estimator will sell to new and existing clients and schedule sales appointments via self-generated leads. This position will estimate the roofing projects that are being sold; by site inspection, to produce a scope of work, pricing for materials and labor and a written proposal. As required, manage the estimating and project process from beginning to end - bidding, completing bid/proposal packages, contract management, creation of hand off packages, submittal process, material list, cost management, etc. This position will report to the Operating Unit President.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Prospect via cold calls, emails, door-to-door calls, networking and referrals.
  2. Support Business Development when needed at all business association events.
  3. Set sales appointments with key decision makers at prospective client companies.
  4. Establish rapport and developing long-term business relationships with clients.
  5. Make sales presentations and partner with clients to establish their needs.
  6. Present clients with the most appropriate solutions.
  7. Create proposals and reports for clients or generate estimates from blueprint drawings, specifications, field notes, field drawings, and actual field inspections depending on client needs.
  8. Submit all contacts and documentation in a timely manner; maintain sales call logs.
  9. Follow up with clients on a periodic basis to ensure that their expectations are being met and to get referrals.
  10. Coordinate with service manager and president to develop sales strategies and to close deals.
  11. Understand the contract to ensure the Company’s responsibilities and scope of the work.
  12. Responsible for catching deviations from the specifications and plans as it relates to scope, contract and schedule.
  13. Obtain all necessary information, such as: field inspections, measurements, photographs, and sketches required to provide accurate customer pricing.
  14. Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors and property managers.
  15. Attend/conduct all weekly meetings in conjunctions with project start-up, pre-bid, sales, job progress.
  16. Maintain bid calendar.
Requirements:
• High school diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and estimating Commercial Roofing Projects.
• Must have working knowledge of the Edge Software or a digital estimating program. Must be willing to learn on-line system for bidding process.
• Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Programs such as Excel and Word.
• Must be able to prepare bids using Excel and other estimating programs.
• May need to conduct take-offs and core cuts
• Not afraid of heights
• Can climb ladder
